| I've been working on rebuilding my old AC compressor and I've ran into a snag. The previous owner of my car had the A/C compressor replaced with a rebuilt unit. After driving for a while I noticed the shaft seal appeared to be leaking. I replaced the compressor with a known good unit and decided I would eventually rebuild the old one. I finally got all the parts needed for this and I tore it apart. It appears the shaft seal that I ordered is either the wrong part, or the compressor I've got is slightly different. Take a look at the pictures below:

The shaft seal on the left is the new one. The shaft seal on the right is the old one that leaked. It appears the new one is a higher quality part. However, it's bigger and doesn't seem to fit right. The old one is smaller, but I can't tell if this is OEM. The only seal in the old one is a small internal o-ring. Can anyone confirm which one is the correct shaft seal for our compressor? As far as I know, there is only one version of our compressor. Courtesy Nissan lists two parts for this.
